Finding the PERFECT Pumpkin

Shaake's Pumpkin Patch free admission, free hay ride, and about $0.40/lb for your pumpkin.
It's a fair price since we would have spent the same amount on pumpkins from Wally or another store!
There were so many pumpkins!
So many colors, shapes, and sizes!
There was also a separate patch of just baby pumpkins!

There were big ones....

Gourds....

 Fake looking pumpkins...

"Blue" pumpkins, Ellie thought they looked blue....

Warty pumpkins....

Ellie loved walking down the roads ahead of us

Found it!
The perfect Pumpkin Jack!
(more on "punkin jack" in a bit)

Waiting for the hayride back to the front of the field!

Excited!

And yet exhausted!

Mr. Dawson was excited to be 6ft tall! So a picture HAD to be taken!

Our new Halloween Tradition:
Go to a pumpkin patch and we each get our own pumpkin to design and carve!

To give you a better understanding about "Punkin Jack"
Ellie and I read this book, titled Pumpkin Jack
It's a cute little book about a boy who carves a pumpkin and named it Jack. When the pumpkin starts to rot he puts it in the garden, and then over a year he watches it grow new pumpkins from its seeds.
Ellie loved that book.
