Hair Ties and Headbands

Have any of you used hair ties that are similar to these?

Do they work well?
Do the hair ties hold the hair in a ponytail well, especially when running?
Any other thoughts on these?

14/31 Things: Public Apology

{To know what I am talking about, and to see past 31 Things posts, start here...}

14. Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.

**********

My darling husband,
I need to apologize for two things....
1. The stink in the bathroom
2. My hair

You see, I couldn't help myself yesterday!
I just HAD to paint my toes.
They were getting long, gross and they were chipping...
So I just hunkered down and conquered!
But then I decided I wanted to paint my finger nails
(something I don't normally do)
Sorry that I doubled the normal amount of stench!
I will do better about finding a place that allows better air cycling next time!
=)

And for my hair....well that's a hard one...
You see, I just can't control this mane that constantly sheds!
I am sorry that it is all over the floors, clogging drains, in our bed, and even embedded in your clothes!
ugh
SO EMBARRASSING!
I am ready to just chop my hair off so that the hair that falls out is shorter and less of an irritating mess.
But then I have to figure out what hairstyle works and doesn't.....which one you would like....
Then I remember that I was wanting to grow my hair out, so the long shedding hair remains.
You see, it's this constant internal battle about my hair that I haven't found the solution for yet!
I am sorry that you are caught in the middle of this tangled mess.

I feel so much better that this is out in the open now!
=)

Love you Babe!

p.s. Sorry about the funky font....I've tried to fix it, but it just isn't working!

Stitch Fix

Have you heard of it?
I just heard of Stitch Fix from Lisa-Jo
Seems kinda cool and exciting!
I signed up, and am on a waiting list
Once they take me off I will let you all know about how it works for me!
I am pretty excited!
My wardrobe could use a few things that I wouldn't necessarily grab off the rack for myself that spices up my current wardrobe!
We shall see!

My First Vera and Fire Engines...

Last Monday Ellie and I were invited to go with a group of other little kids to the fire station!
It was quite exciting and fun!
Especially being able to touch all the trucks!
Ellie loved it, and we both learned a lot!

 This is my first Vera!

Yeah, Yeah, it's not a wedding dress, nor is it the expensive Vera perfume that I like is amazing!
But, these are Vera!
She has a line of clothing at Kohls
AND
I got these on the sale rack, and only one of my size left!
They were about $30 off and I had a coupon on top of that!
So these are my $10 Vera's!!!
Super comfy and I love them!
Thought you would like to know!
=)

shoes....

Let me start with this...
I have an obsession with purses.
Not shoes.
But when I come across a cute pair that is comfortable
I have a hard time getting them out of my mind!
=)
Currently these are the pair on my mind....
They are from famous footwear.
Want to read about them?
They are SUPER comfy!

On a different note,
Two good friends of mine from high school
(who happen to share the same wedding date as us, okay okay, they picked it first and when deciding dates I knew there was something that day but couldn't remember until we had solidified the date with family)
=)
Had their baby twin boys today!
Congratulations Melissa and Cory!!
(The babies are Peter and Calvin)
So excited for their new adventure!

The Costs of Beauty

Did anyone else see this?
I think that this is something that all girls should know!
I mean honestly!
If it costs about $37,728 a year for Kate Middleton to "beautify" herself,
we women who make that much money in one year
(maybe even less than that)
should definitely not compare ourselves to her or other stars!
=)

We are so lucky that we don't have the ability to splurge like that!
I personally don't think it is necessary!
But it was nice to be able to see an amount placed on how much is spent to constantly uphold an image of impeccable skin, makeup, nails, and hair!

I think I will stick with my 3-4 times a year hair cut with the occasional highlighting!
Two professional pedicures a year
(one to start the summer off and one to end it!)
And my makeup and lotion from the Target isles
I do own a bronzer from MAC and a blush from Bobbi Brown
But I bought those like 2 years ago!
Either way, I KNOW I don't spend anything close to $37,000 a year on beauty products!

Little note...

There have been a few times in my life where someone has told me that my hair smells good.
I am always grateful I washed it when they say that, but I never believed them/understood that hair can keep a smell from shampoo for a decent amount of time.
I AM SHOCKED!
Ellie's been playing with my hair, which means it's ended up in my face....
and my hair does have it's shampoo smell!

Seriously, I never actually noticed until today.
Am I really that slow?!
(Don't answer that!)

Gift

Occasionally I get "Thank you" gifts from students at the end of semesters, christmas, when they move away or are switching teachers...
The wonderful perks!
I received chapstick today that I have never tried before.
It's strange to me because, after putting it on, it's like a sparkly lipstick that is supposed to moisturize my lips and also has an SPF.
It didn't say that it would have color pigment in it and it definitely didn't look sparkly.
It's strange...
There are two other colors in this pack of three and I am interested to see how the end up looking!
Do you see how extra red my lips look?
