Many people have asked us how the adoption is coming.
We are still waiting.
The agency that we are working with does things a little different than most.
The birth mothers choose the family they will place their child with,
rather than just pairing us up with someone.
So, we wait.
We have an Aunt in St. George Utah who is getting our name out there!
Thanks April!
We have a friend in my parents ward who works with potential birth mothers and she is getting our name out there for us!
Thanks Sis. Young!
We also have our case worker in Missouri sharing our profile for us too!
Thanks Paul!

Know anyone who is considering adoption?
We would love to send them to people who can answer all their questions!
Or we can try our best to answer them!
=)
We know it will happen at some point and are excited for that day!
Have you guys considered foster care? You can foster to adopt. It's free.. and you get paid.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, it's not exactly "free". There are fees to get certified, just like adoption. And even if you will end up adopting the child you are fostering, there is still money involved in that adoption process as well.
DeleteI personally think I would have the hardest time with foster care, even if it was foster to adopt. There is still a possibility of the birth family taking their child back after a few days, weeks, months, even years. (Up until the adoption process is finalized) The states goal is to reunite families, so they don't easily give you the adoption rights.
There are a few paragraphs in this post that say what I feel, better than I can.

But for now, we are sticking with adoption. Come 2014, and if we still haven't placed, we will reconsider all our options again.
I have a friend who was just "picked" by the birth mother. It's very exciting. The expecting period is hard, but you'll be picked when it's the right one.
ReplyDeleteAmy! That is so exciting! Thanks for sharing!
