Hang on to the roses

So the other day I went to the music library to get some homework done because all the practice rooms were taken! But instead of doing homework I was overcome by so many thoughts, and this creation came alive. This is the first poem I've written that wasn't for school so please don't judge it too harshly! And I need a title for it........

You sit and think of years come and gone
And all the things that you have done.
Cars speed by, people trudge through,
Have I stopped to say hello to you?

You always appear to have yourself thinly spread
The buffet of life has you way over fed!
And yet somehow you manage it all,
You know how to get up when you start to fall.

Friends come in and tell you to follow
Or perhaps you go out with a certain young fellow.
They tell you to breathe,
They tell you to run,
They say, "Take a break and have a little fun!"

Then in that moment, time stands still.
Life's a joy, you're head-over-heels
You're as free as a bird, You worry no more
Until someone stands up and heads for the door.

Instantly the gate is open and responsibility floods in
There is no place to turn, no place to hide
All you can do is face it and ride.

But remember the people, and places, and fun
For these are the flowers that wipe away mud.
Treat them with care and don't let them fade,
One never knows when you may need their aid.

Climb aboard and buckle in!
Hang on tight, it's time to begin.
The ride of life has twists and turns
loop-da-loops, stresses, and fears!

But don't forget your flowers are there for when you start to fall
There, to help you recall
The time when life felt like nothing at all.
