Thoughts on pregnancy that every woman should know when they are pregnant.
In Tresann Dawson's opinion that is!
1. When you find out your due date, add 1-2 weeks on to it.
This way it will seem like your baby is early or on time, and will not cause you to go insane waiting for the child to come.
2. Walking really is good for you.
Not just to keep you fit, but it can also help induce contractions...whether or not those induce labor is up to your body.
3. The sooner you tell people your pregnant, the longer the pregnancy seems.
Learned this from my Laurels advisor and took her advise, it totally is worth it to wait and tell!
4. If you are up to planning a pregnancy, aim to not be pregnant during summer.
It's already dreadfully hot, and then add the added heat from being pregnant...YIKES!
5. Ask your doctor/midwife loads of questions, even if they seem embarrassing!
Seriously! It will help calm you over anything you are worried about
6. Don't tell people you are at the hospital until you have been REALLY admitted.
It just makes things more depressing if you have to leave, and then people really wonder what is going on with you.
7. Just be patient!
Ha! Easier said than done...I would know! But seriously. Pregnancy teaches you how to be patient!
My mother-in-law is a PA at an OBGYN office and when I was pregnant with Emma she told me she likes to add about 1 1/2 weeks to the due date for first pregnancies because they are usually late.. then Emma came 10 days early! So this time she thought I would go early for sure.. and this pregnancy is healthier than my last one so he is just comfy and cozy to stay in there longer.. I would also add to not go the the hospital until you are REALLY contracting.. where you don't want to walk anymore. You'll know when you get to that point and then everything at the hospital will go faster... Also.. enjoy every moment! You'll be happy to have your baby to hold but will miss the movements inside your belly. :)
